Idle Azure Cache for Redis

How to apply the recommendation

Delete the service

1. Click View in Portal in the recommendation to open the Azure Portal on the correct resource.
2. Select Overview in the menu.
3. Click Delete on the top header.

Note: Make sure that you no longer need this cache before you delete it. You cannot undo this operation.

Downscale the service

1. Click View in Portal in the recommendation to open the Azure Portal on the correct resource.
2. Select Scale in the menu.
3. Select a smaller cache size.

Criteria

An Azure Cache for Redis must have had no Get operation in the past 30 days to be considered idle.

Tip: These caches can be scaled down at first and then deleted to reduce costs.

Note: The Set operations are not taken in account for this recommendation. A message will be displayed if the cache had only Set operations in the last 30 days.
